Amity High School Young Dems

Here is the endorsement the Hynes campaign has received from the Amity High School Young Dems, written by Miles Halpine

I first met Aldon Hynes at a Lakeview Lodge music series concert. I was introduced to him and could tell he would definitely be going places. He was very friendly and a really interesting guy to talk to. Now, with that said, it is obvious to anyone who knows him how much of a social media consultant he really is. From Foursquare to Twitter and Facebook, Aldon does it all. And, when considering we are now in the 21st century, the era of new technology, this is just another tool in his tool belt that makes him the best choice to represent the 114th district in Hartford.

I had another chance to meet Aldon at the 114th district Democratic convention, and it was a pleasure to have a chance to talk to him face-to-face about why he chose to run. Of course, that night, he was nominated and then consequently selected to be the Democratic candidate this year. Even without any opponents for the opportunity of being chosen, everyone could tell Aldon was ready and energized to make real progress — not just the work that is expected of legislators, but to go above and beyond.

The main reason I am writing is because of the third time I saw Aldon: at the Amity High School Young Democrats’ last meeting of the year. As soon as he spoke, I could tell all our members were interested in what he had to say. He actually connects to what we believe in when it comes to the issues we care about: education reform (not having endless standardized tests) and the high school policy about drug dog searches.

Aldon Hynes has everything, from his 21st century communication skills necessary in this era, to his charisma, dedication and passion for what he believes in. So do not go out and support a candidate who has not much to her name except a little more than a  minor party title. Go with a candidate who doesn’t have mediocre ideas, but rather innovative ones. Go with the candidate who promotes ending apathy over his own party. Go with the candidate who is an expert at connecting with others, especially those of a future generation. Go with Aldon Hynes, and don’t turn back. At this point, it gives me, on behalf of the Amity High School Young Democrats, the utmost pride to officially support Aldon Hynes for Connecticut State Representative in the 114th district. I urge everyone to support Aldon. For, if you do, we all win. He is best choice for your district, your state, and your future. Vote Hynes 2012!
